Be clear on responsibilities!

Both with regards to LED strategy planning and implementation it is key to assign clear responsibilities to everyone involved. This applies especially when entering a partnership with stakeholders outside local government. A partnership between various stakeholders should always be based on a written agreement between the parties, exactly defining the roles and responsibilities of each partner and even in the case of non-financial contributions. Such a document helps structuring a partnership and avoiding misunderstandings from the start.

Key questions:

  • Who is leading the process from each party?
  • Who is responsible for what task in LED strategy planning and implementation?
  • Who contributes what in terms of time and money?
