Be strategic in choosing your projects!

There is always the danger of LED strategies to become long and meaningless wish lists of projects which by their sheer number are not realistic to be implemented. A key step in any LED strategy is therefore to prioritise your projects for implementation. In the following we have listed criteria which may provide you with some guidance:

  • Concentrate on two or three instead of a whole range of different projects
  • Choose projects which have the greatest buy-in of the various stakeholders involved
  • Focus on projects that may have a knock-on effect and are beneficial in inducing additional economic activities
  • Consider choosing one project with quick wins. This will have an encouraging effect on stakeholders to stay on-board throughout the process
