Since its establishment in 2000, the institution has become a leader in continuing education and the provision of quality, career-focused training. With more than 500 certificate courses across 20 industry fields and its affiliation with the University of Pretoria, CE at UP Trust has contributed significantly to the enhancement of the skills base in both the private and public sectors in the country. CE at UP Trust's success can be attributed to three distinct, but interrelated factors:

- focus on tailor-made training programmes that does not subscribe to the recipe of one-size-fits-all.
- Based on a strong set of values, CE at UP Trust creates an environment for innovation in its quest to render a world-class training experience.
Training Options
CE at UP Trust offers both scheduled open courses and customised in-house training. Open courses are presented at various campuses of the University of Pretoria and can be attended by individuals or groups of delegates from different companies. Customised training incorporates the unique training needs of the relevant client. In developing these courses - designed with the specifically identified needs of an organisation - the culture, vision and strategy of each client is embodied within the learning..
Quality and Accreditation
Short learning programmes presented through CE at UP Trust are fully recognised by the University of Pretoria and relevant bodies, including the Council on Higher Education, who are responsible for the accreditation of Higher Education Institutions and their academic offering. The University of Pretoria is fully accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) as a multi-purpose public training provider in the higher education and training band. The HEQC functions as the ETQA (Education and Training Quality Assurance) body for the higher education sector, as recognised by SAQA. In terms of the Higher Education Act (Act 101 of 1997), the University of Pretoria is a public higher education institution.
Certification
Delegates who successfully completed a training programme and comply with the relevant assessment criteria, receive a certificate of successful completion, which is issued by the provider of the training, the University of Pretoria.
Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
CE at UP Trust has a Level 4 B-BBEE Recognition Level. This enables clients to count 125% of any spend made with CE at UP Trust as B-BBEE spend.

Re: Continuing Education at the University of Pretoria: Entrepre
I for one have benefitted immensenly from the programme at a start up face I must say that it has fluffed out all the feathers from my simple understanding of what business/entrepreneurship is. Although I have had a chance to even manage to interprete financial management side of it - as it never had been my strong point, and also practiced this in my small business, of recycling, i also learned that in keeping with such ethos is not as simple as it seems especially if you are not consistant. I was sucked by cooperatives and have as a result switched over my business into that of a coop approach and this has paid a lot of dividents in terms of knowledge that I have gathered from this course. I am looking forward to enrolling for a Coop development course with you guys in the next trench. PLS do n't forget to inform me, PLEASEEEEE!
