This report examines the status quo with respect to Local Economic Development (LED) in the Free State Province, and the impact which LED projects are having on local communities. The research investigation sought to establish, firstly, what the national and provincial picture is with respect to LED, and secondly, with reference to a series of case-studies, to establish what is happening on the ground in the Free State.
