Document: Guideline for Implementation of a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) Process
Description
A Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) is a process for analyzing the likely impacts of a policy change and the range of options for implementing it. It can be used to assess all potential impacts - social, environmental, financial, all regulations: formal legislation (laws, ordinances, decrees, decisions, and master-plans) and quasi regulations (e.g. guidance or codes of practice, public awareness campaigns, etc.) and also the distribution of impacts to consumers, business, employees, rural, urban, or other groups. The RIA is typically prepared in several stages.
