Document: Tourism Brochure

Description

ULM acknowledges that tourism is one of the major contributors in the South African economy and of which Ulm is no exception, We are part of 2 major routes  N2 joins East London and Cape Town and R56 Matatiele and Pietermaritsburg.

Our vision regarding tourism is “To be a preferred tourism destination in the Eastern Cape”
The rationale behind launching brochure is to attract investors/tourists to come to the area, to increase number of tourists that visit the area and to develop tourist attractions such as Ntenetyane dam,Lugelweni waterfalls because currently they are just attractions but there is no economic developement.

Tourism knows no boundaries, its about linkages and networks. The attractions that we posses has a bring lot of job opportunities if value is added on them. We pride ourselves with rugged mountains, rolling hills, snow, caves, diverse culture, art and craft.

We are proud to announce that we have  managed to train 10 qualified tour guides accredited by Tourism , Sport, Hospitality Training Authority. We have 20 Accommodation establishments, 10 out of them are graded as 3 stars and others are graded as 2 stars.

We  have exhibited in Tourism Indaba 2010 in Durban and Tourism Show Held In Johannesburg, Dome
We believe in humbly beginnings. There is a Council resolution that has agreed to have the event annually in September. The event has managed to attract people from eThekwini Municipality, Elundini Local Municipality ,Ntabankulu LM and Matatiele Local Municipality. The municipality aligns with Eastern Cape logo that says Eastern Cape the place to be, invest, the place to live on and invest and indeed Umzimvubu
