Event: ICT women empowerment Africa summit

28. September 2010 - 29. September 2010 The summit was prompted by a thorough research conducted by Corptrain to ascertain the condition of women in ICT in Africa. The reality is that this vital sector has great economic potentials but marred by a huge level of disparity in terms of gender equity. Few women are actively involved, and far less at management level.
Summit objectives:
The summit aims to achieve the following objectives which certainly will guarantee positive change for all women in ICT:
- Exploring opportunities for women advancement in the ICT sector
- Aligning ICT with other broader women empowerment initiatives
- Offering an opportunity to women from various walks of life to share experiences and compare notes
- Highlighting the importance of ICT as a vital tool to bring women to the economic mainstream
- Using case-studies to offer practical hands experiences
- Creating a forum to highlight the need for an integrated approach to women empowerment in ICT
- Taking the African ICT industry to globally competitive levels
- Building a solid foundation for future women advancement
- Helping women to manage their business more productively
