August 2011 Local Government Technology Summit (LGTS) is a national initiative facilitated to advance technology specifically at local government level and is a collaborative effort focusing on integrating technology in infrastructure and economic development, by encouraging a policy of mutual effort from local players with a common goal - achieving sustainable economic growth through the use of technology.The overall intention of LGTS is economic improvement of the municipal or local area, encouraging skills development and job creation, while addressing poverty, and providing better living standards in these areas.
Focusing on using information technology solutions to help local leaders meet the challenges of security and safety; economic development and efficient government and business, this exclusive event showcases leading-edge research; the key issues faced by local governments and the opportunity for participants to share solutions and build partnerships with Local Government.
