Event: University of Johannesburg: Micro and Small Business Owners

16. January 2012 - 12. April 2012 The Small Business Enrichment Programme (SBEP) offered by University of Johannesburg is an opportunity to grow and strengthen your small business. The programme starts on 16 January to 12 April 2012 at the Soweto Campus.
The value of the programme is R15 000. The BHP Billiton will pay 90 percent towards the programme and successful applicants will be required to pay a commitment fee of R1 500 only. However, individuals who miss any of the once a week session will be expected to refund the 90 percent of part thereof.
Upon completion, participation certificate will be issued by the University to qualifying individuals. The university will also visit candidates six months after completion of the programme to do an impact assessment.
The programme consists of the following modules:
- How to turn struggling business around;
- How to grow your market share;
- How to use ICT to grow your business;
- How to deal with employees;
- How your business can benefit from Black Economic Empowerment (BEE);
- How to manage the finances of your own business; and
- How to be an effective business leader.
Who qualifies?
Individuals who have been in business for at least two years qualify for the programme. If interested, request a form from the contact below and submit it with the following documentation:
- A short CV of your business/company profile;
- Copy of the CK (registered business certificate);
- Certified copy of identity document (ID).
