Event: Accredited University Short learning Certificates and Programmes
Date:
12. March 2012 - 17. August 2012 The University of North West (Potchefstroom Campus) will be offering a number of short courses throughout the 2012 academic year.
The aim of the office for short courses is;
The establishment of the Office for Short Courses and Development in January 2009 was motivated by the need for a “vehicle” in the School of Social and Government Studies to facilitate Short Learning Programmes (SLP) through alternative modes of delivery. The Office is responsible to conceptualise, design and facilitate the development and presentation of the credit-bearing Short Learning Programmes and modules that are aligned to the formal academic programmes of the School or registered Unit Standards.
The School of Social and Government Studies, through the Office for Short Courses and Development, is strategically positioned to support public sector initiatives that seek to address the unique knowledge and skills challenges that confront the developmental state, specifically the public sector, in South – and Southern Africa. Short Learning Programmes are certified by the North-West University (NWU) or endorsed by one or more of various tertiary institutions in the respective consortia led by North-West University or in partnerships with such institutions.
