Because of the Orange River and the Vaal River flowing through the area there is a lost of intensive crop farming activities on the banks of these rivers. But unfortunately these activities are only centered in towns situated alongside the rivers, because for towns situated just a few kilometers from the river lack of water have an adverse impact on the economy. Water provision and availability is one of the issues that will have to be addressed in order to improve the economic activity in most towns situated within the Pixley ka Seme District Municipal area.
