Free Websites for Small & Medium Businesses
Dear SA LED Network Member,
Google has announced to launch Woza Online, an initiative that aims to bring tens of thousands of small and medium South African businesses online. Businesses will have the opportunity to create their own websites at www.wozaonline.co.za. Please find more information here.

Documents: We have added a number of new documents to the the Network's website, such as a Guide on how to recover local economies from disaster, Creating Quality Jobs - Transforming the Economic Development Landscape and 10 Things a Local Elected Official should know in LED. All downloads are free of charge.
Event: If you are interested in applying for the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) in Local Economic Development (LED) at The Hague Academy for Local Governance, you have to do so before 01 February 2012! This course is about strengthening the economic capacity of a regional community in such a way that it makes optimal use of the potential and characteristics of the area. It discusses strategies, tools and approaches to improve conditions for economic growth and job creation. More information on the course, which takes place from 10 - 12 September 2012 in the Netherlands, and on how to apply is provided here.
