Organisation: Local Government SETA (LGSETA)
The Local Government SETA (LGSETA) is one of the 23 Sector Education and Training Authorities established on the grounds of the Skills Development Act. It is the purpose of any SETA to uplift the skills level of workers and employees working in their sector. The particular need for the LGSETA to establish training interventions, and in particular Learnerships on LED was identified from research and the analysis of the Workplace Skills Plans (WSP). The LED Learnerships are developed by the LGSETA with the support of the Department of Provincial and Local Government (dplg), the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) as well as a wide range of other relevant stakeholders.
