Tool: GENESIS
Description
GENESIS is a methodology to conduct a participatory exercise to formulate a local or regional economic development strategy. GENESIS can also be employed to conduct a regional foresight exercise. GENESIS gives you a strategic perspective of the development opportunities of the local or regional economy and specific proposals for catalytic activities to stimulate the development of the local or regional economy. A GENESIS exercise is conducted by a team of external GENESIS specialists and local stakeholders. GENESIS can only work if there is a strong buy-in from key stake-holders, government, the business communtiy and the community.
